My husband Dustin works 4 10 hour days a week, so we get to spend Monday through Wednesday together every week. I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun it is to have so much time together to get to do whatever we want. I almost feel like a kid cutting school sometimes. With Dustin being home more I’ve had a chance to take lots of pictures. The other day we went for a little walk and daddy and his girl both wore their beanies. I thought they were too cute.

And then of course I had to take some pictures of Lauren all by herself. I love how deep brown her eyes are getting. She is such a cute baby! But then, I grew her, so I’m kind of partial.

Next weekend I’ll be heading down to San Luis Obispo for a conference with some AMAZING photographers. I’m sure to have lots of great images to share that aren’t of my daughter.

Last week was my oldest neice Megan’s 8th birthday. To celebrate we all got together at TGIFriday’s for grub and gift giving. It’s so fun to hang out with my family! Lauren certinly loves the attention.

It was such fun watching Meg unwrap gifts. Grandma and Grandpa got her lots of scrapbooking supplies which she totally loved.

Dustin, Lauren and I stopped by Libby Lu and picked up the COOLEST hot pink sparkely cowgirl boots EVER. Meg thought they were the awesomest things she’d ever seen!

Of course she had to put them on right then and walk around strutting her stuff. I can’t believe Meg is 8 years old! And pretty soon she is going to be a big sister! If the way she is with Lauren is any indication, she’s going to be great. I hope her birthday was as much fun for her as it was for us!

The best part for me, of course, was getting to take the pictures. All of these images were shot on my brand spankin’ new 35mm f/2 Nikkor lens. I have an addiction to prime lenses! This one was such a sweet deal I couldn’t pass it up. It did well in the low light of the resteraunt so I’m excited to see what it can do at a wedding or reception. It’s a great portrait lens as well and I am excited to get to use it soon!

I got to take Melanie and Jason’s engagement pictures on Monday afternoon and it was SO much fun. These two are energetic, athletic and hilarious to boot. We shot around McKinley Park and their beautiful neighborhood. It was fun to incorporate their hobbies and lifestyle into pictures that say so much about them as a couple. I am so excited for their wedding in April. Forgive me for putting up so many images, but I couldn’t pick! So many turned out so well! I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.

I was honored to take Rebecca’s Senior portraits last Sunday. Rebecca is my husband’s oldest neice and absolutly one of the most delightful people I’ve ever met. It was great fun going around downtown Sacramento and Old Sac to do her pictures. She was so natural in front of the camera and had so much fun. I hope she loves these pictures as much as I do. We love you Rebeccca!
