    Melissa and Mans’ Wedding

I can’t even begin to tell you how much fun Melissa and Mans are! These two are so awesome, and had such a beautiful wedding that it was just an absolute joy to spend the day with them. We started out at Melissa and Mans’ home in Woodland where the bride was getting ready. Melissa’s dress and shoes and jewelry (oh my!) were to die for! Her wedding ring wasn’t so bad either. :)

Dustin was my assistant for this wedding, and he headed over to hang out with the fella’s prior to the ceremony. Mans was pretty pleased with his wedding day flask. And really, who could blame him?

Once everyone was ready it was into the Hummer Limo and off to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Woodland, CA. There Melissa and Mans were made man and wife and my husband and I were so excited to shoot a beautiful church ceremony. The church building is just stunning, and it was so fun to get such beautiful shots of such a beautiful place.

Once the I Do’s were over we headed to downtown Sacramento and the Library Galleria where Melissa and Mans threw one heck of a party (after some couple pictures of course!) Thanks to their awesome DJ’s Sounds in Motion for making it a night to remember!

And another special thanks to the Johnston’s for refering Melissa and Man’s to us. I got to photograph their beautiful daughter, Jamie’s wedding last fall and it was a delight to see them again! Thanks for introducing us to another amazing couple!

Congratulations to Melissa and Mans! We hope Hawaii is a blast!

    Good Clean Fun!

Let’s start things off with my favorite thing in the world – my daughter, Lauren.

She is a big fan of bath time, and was hamming it up for the camera the other night. She is such a cute girl and I seriously love her to bits and pieces. I just have no idea where she gets her wicked sense of humor! None at ALL!

So, can I just tell you what a whirlwind the last week or so has been? We have been blessed to photograph some great people and to have met with some great people. But in between all the awesome has been some pretty crumby stuff too. My site was hacked into this week, and so things over there might look (and feel) a little scattered, but I’m trying to do everything I can to get things back to it’s former radiance and glory. Bear with me, especiall on the HTML side of the site, as it seems to be having the most difficult time recovering.

To add insult to injury, the flu seems to have made it’s way through our little family over the last week. It started with Lauren, moved on to Dustin and finished up with me. I am finally feeling a little better, but I think a recliner and TiVo are in my future for the rest of today. It’s amazing what can just make you feel like you’ve been hit by a bus! I think it’s time for some tea. :)

Thanks for sticking it out with me through my mini blog drought. I will have a new wedding slideshow and a couple eSession slideshows coming up in the next few days. Hooray for love, and hooray for TheraFlu!

Also let’s give three cheers to Mary Hanson at Blogs of Photographers for featuring me on her website today! She said something I get a lot, but I still really love to hear it.

I hope this doesn’t sound snarky at all, but the thing that I love about her work, is that so many of her clients are average looking, but she does a great job of flattering them and really making beautiful images. We all know its a bit easier to photograph the beautiful people of the world, right? Sarah rocks at that, but even tougher, she makes all the “regular people” look great too!

I find it so interesting that this is the thing I get the most emails about from other photographers… “How do you make every day people look so beautiful?” Well, I believe with all my heart that EVERYONE is beautiful. My favorite book is “The Little Prince” and my favorite part of the book is the secret the fox makes a gift to the prince. He says, “It is only with the heart that one can see clearly. Everything that is essential is invisible to the eye.” I have been truly blessed by each and every one of my clients, and not a single couple has ever had lukewarm love. They have all loved so deeply and with such joy that it was impossible to not see the beauty just radiating out of them. They saw in each other the invisible truths and beauties about each other, and I was able to capture that beauty for them. I don’t think anyone can look average when they are in love. It’s always an honor to be in the presence of greatness, and each of my clients has blessed me with the opportunity to stand as a witness of their beautiful love. Thanks to all my clients for letting me see you as you truly are. And thanks so much Mary for checking out my work and featuring me, it’s a huge honor!:)

And now… one more picture of Lauren!
