Niki and Clay {wedding}

Niki and Clay are such a great couple! It was so much fun hanging out with them on their wedding day. These two are such grounded people, it is no wonder they were attracted to each other. It was so fun to hear their family and friends talk about just how perfect they are for each other – and I couldn’t agree more.
I started out with Niki at Luci’s Salon in Davis where she had hair and makeup done with her bridesmaids. Niki usually isn’t much of a makeup girl but she did a great job picking a look that was still so her. She was so calm and collected too! It was so fun to be there with her.Dustin and Trisha headed over to Niki and Clay’s home to photograph Clay and his groomspeople getting ready. Clay bucked tradition and had two ladies stand on his side of the alter as well. His best friend and sister joined the gentlemen and kept thing running ever so smoothly. It was so fun to have the girls around as well.Then it was off to Scribner’s Bend Vineyards for the vows and the party! Niki and Clay were married by Clay’s Grandfather after Niki walked down the aisle to a song that had been composed for her by her father. It was so wonderful to have those personal touches throughout their day. From the classic Coke bottles to the amazing cake from Freeport Bakery, everything was VERY Niki and Clay. It was a joy to celebrate their marriage with them and we are so grateful we got to be a part of it.Thank you Niki and Clay for being so dang awesome and for having such a great party! We so appreciate you, your hospitality and your deep love for each other and your family and friends. We wish you the happiest of lives together!

Tina and Brett are AMAZING! I love them to death and I can’t even tell you how much fun we had with these two. I’m so grateful we found each other and really, that they found each other. Tina and Brett are PERFECT together! I loved watching them throughout the day. Their love is so obvious and so infectious! There was not a single person at this wedding who wasn’t glowing with love. It was just awesome.
I had a blast hanging out with Tina and her girls as they got ready. I seriously am in LOVE with Tina’s dress. It has so much texture and is just so feminine and beautiful. When I pulled it out of the bag to photograph it I gasped at how beautiful it was and Tina came running down the hall because she thought something was wrong! But really, it was just so lovely I couldn’t believe it! Once hair and makeup were in place it was off to the Whitney Oaks Golf Club for the wedding and celebration!
Tina and Brett had a beautiful ceremony! The day couldn’t have been more perfect! There were big puffy clouds, a slight breeze and a WHOLE lotta love. It was wonderful to watch Tina and Brett become a family. And, yes, I totally cried like a little girl when Brett put a ring on Tina’s son Isaiah’s finger too. What can I say? I’m a softy!
Then it was off to the party! Tina and Brett entered their party in STYLE with big sunglasses and Hawaiian lays. The party went was so much fun, and so incredibly joyful. They had THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CAKE from Villiage Cake Shoppe. Not only was it stunning it was tasty too. Then there was lots of dancing with family and friends. This was most definitely a celebration!
Thanks to Tina, Brett, Isaiah and your amazing family and friends for letting us be a part of your big day. It was such a joy and an honor. I can’t wait for your Day After session! We’re so gonna rock that dress out! Check out the slideshow for more images from Tina and Brett’s perfect day.

Dustin! Get Outta My Shot!

We had a little too much fun with Lyndsay and Mike last night doing their post wedding bridal session. We trompped around their downtown neighborhood for a while hitting some of my FAVORITE spots. While we were shooting Dustin was doing a pretty awesome job holding my reflector…. right in front of the camera. :) If you’ve ever looked at um… most of my pictures, you can tell how much I love shooting with my REALLY WIDE angle lenses. Because of this, sometimes Dustin finds himself on the edges of images. I will often say (in a kind, loving tone) “Dustin! Get outta my shot!” Above is what I got after about the 700th time I said that last night. We had a blast though! And if you don’t belive me… well just look at this and then be really excited that their slideshow will be up soon. :)

    This is from their post wedding bridal session, Kate. Since I’ve shot everything ELSE for your wedding, why not a fun romp around town in your wedding dress? I do LOVE fall colors. :)

    Maaaann…It’s shot like these that remind me of how sad I am that you’re not shooting my wedding!

Summertime Baby

I found this cute picture of Lauren last night as I was going through THOUSANDS of images of her that I have yet to process. I took FULL advantage of Aaron Brother’s Semi-Annual Penny Sale this time around, and have all these frames that need some pictures so we can finally have something on our walls. When we moved to the new house there were two things that I just loved – 1) all the natural light and 2) how must wall space was available. We had neither of those things in our condo and they were sorely missed. So, even though we’ve been here almost 6 months I still have some pretty blank walls. Luckily, the amazing Beth Baugher of True Love Photo did me the great honor of photographing my little family not too long ago. It’s just kind of one of those things I guess – kind of like the cobblers children have no shoes. So often it goes that the photographer has no photographs of their whole family. I have SCADS of pictures of Lauren and Dustin together and separately, but honestly, there are SO FEW of us together. I am so grateful for Beth and her willingness to put up with me on the other side of the lens so my house need not look like we’re squatters. :) Sometime soon, I’ll be done processing them and I’ll share them with you all. I’ll even show you how I hung them in my home. For now though, it’s time for me to focus on the pictures of others, and you can have this sneak peek of my baby when she is not sick and whiny but cute and clappy.
