Max! {Sneak Peek}

Max is ADORABLE! Seriously! I have to say he was just one of the best babies ever to work with! As I’ve been editing his newborn session I’ve come across some serious gems. This picture of Max and his Dad made me laugh out loud!

There are times when I take pictures of babies and think, “You know, they are going to make that EXACT face 10 years from now when their parents want them to clean their room.” I have pictures of Lauren from the first couple days of her life making unpleasant faces and she TOTALLY makes them to this day when she’s mad. I can just see Max and his Dad giving each other these looks someday.

But those aren’t the only looks Max will give. I can promise his Mom and Dad they are going to see as lot more faces like this!

I look forward to sharing the rest of this perfect baby boys pictures. But first his mom and dad get to see them at their premier in the studio. Hold on to your hearts though… this cutie will melt it into a puddle!

More soon!

Vegas Baby! {WPPI 2009}

Las Vegas! Beth and I are here in the city of sin and loving it. Our flight in was a bit turbulent, and there were no taxi’s at the airport which lead to a bizarre shuttle ride, and it’s pouring rain. But the moment we stepped through the doors of the MGM Grand everything was coming up roses… literally… the lobby is FILLED with roses. Amazing. We flew in with Andrea of Andrea’s Images and Rachelle of Rachelle Photography and shared in the craziness of the shuttle bus. We found Thias of Love at First Click and then we were ready to ROCK! Beth got a little camera happy in the room as we were getting ready to head to the trade show.

And then we hopped into elevator, made our way down to the main floor for some lunching and tradeshowing. While we were grabbing food I spotted my BELOVED friend Heather Cole. I seriously had tears in my eyes hugging her. She is just such an amazing person and I am so happy to call her my friend. She was with her dear friend Bobbi of Bobbi and Mike and it was nice to meet her too! It was so emotional Beth took a picture for us!

How much do we love Bobbi for popping in?!?! SO MUCH!

Then Rachelle and I headed of to our first time at the trade show. It was MASSIVE! And we didn’t even get through half of it so I’m thrilled to have two more days to peruse everything. While we were chatting about ring flashes I looked over and saw my dear web designers Dustin and Neal of Baldology. SERIOUSLY! These guys! I love them! Rachelle was kind enough to photograph us. Again! TEARS! How can I thank these guys enough for giving me this incredible site and then saving it when it was destroyed. I love these guys!

So far Vegas is rocking! Beth and I are off for some nickle slot maddness before dinner… should be great!

Lady Luck {personal}

Things have been feeling very lucky these days. I have been wildly blessed with some amazing clients, outstanding opportunities and the most amazing family and friends. I am feeling especially blessed since the opening of our oh so lovely studio. The other day Beth and I were in the studio finishing up some painting and when we walked outside we saw this AMAZING double rainbow over our studio. And there it all was… spelled out in the sky… just how lucky and blessed we are.

Bethie and I are taking a trip starting tomorrow to a magical land called Las Vegas. She and me and whole bunch of our friends are headed to WPPI for some networking, some trade showing, and as many buffets as we can fit into three days. If you’re a photographer heading to Vegas and you see my out and about please don’t be afraid to say hi. If you are stuck back here and want to get a hold of me, email is probably going to be your best bet as I won’t be able to hear my phone most of the time. I will have my computer and my phone for email checking, so hopefully I’ll be able to get back to everyone as soon as possible. I will be back in the office on Thursday, so any unfinished business will be resolved then. I am sure I’ll blog as we go in Vegas. I’m SO excited! I can’t wait to see friends I haven’t seen in a long time, and to meet some peeps I only know on the internet. It’s going to be awesome! Until then, let’s end this post with a photo of one of my most favoritest people ever…. Lauren J.

jessica and keith {wedding}

Oh wonderful Jessica and Keith! My love for you is overwhelming and spectacular. I am so happy that we got to be a part of your beautiful, amazing wedding. It was a beautiful day from start to finish, and I seriously had the best time. These two crazy kids were married in the Sacramento LDS Temple on January 30, and oh my goodness! EVERYTHING was so beautiful. The weather was amazing, I had my dear friend Beth Baugher of True Love Photo by my side, and Jessica’s amazing attention to detail was evident from the first moment. When Keith and Jess walked out of the temple, Beth leaned over and said, “I hate you! They are PERFECT!” and she SHOULD hate me… Jess and Keith ARE perfect and I’m basically the luckiest photographer in the world.

After shooting around the temple grounds for a little bit, we headed downtown for some fun urban images. I have to say, this was like a dream come true for Beth and I. We ALWAYS wish we had hours for couple pictures, but usually we’re cramming as much goodness as we can into seventeen minutes between the ceremony and the reception. We had two whole hours for couple pictures, and it was incredible! We got some amazing images that I am so proud of! Seriously, this whole post could easily just be their couple pictures… so be proud of the restraint I’m showing right now.

Then we were off to the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria for Jessica and Keith to exchange rings at a ring ceremony (something that isn’t done in a temple wedding) and then their amazing reception. Jess did an amazing job with all the little details of her wedding. From the beautiful broach on her birdcage veil, to the incredible centerpieces everything was absolutely perfectly put together.

And then it was party time! Jessica and Keith were surrounded by an amazing group of family and friends who shared hilarious toasts, best wishes, and a lot of love with this couple. They had a great night full of laughter, tears and most importantly – DANCING! Thanks to Ray of Perfect Sounds for keeping the party hopping all night!

A BIG thank you to Jessica, Keith and your wonderful family and friends for having us be a part of your wedding. We are so happy for you, and wish you both an eternity of happiness. Check out their slideshow HERE or in the box below for more images from their amazing wedding!

lisa and geoff {esession}

When Lisa and Geoff came to meet with us the first time I fell head over heals in love with them. They told me about how they met each other working for Apple Computers, and were getting married at Apple Hill in the late summer; how Lisa double majored in graphic design and photography and how there pictures were of the utmost importance to them… and well… when they left I looked at Dustin and said, “IMMEDIATELY start telling the universe that they are going to hire us!” And as luck had it the universe was listening! Dustin and I are beyond excited for the wedding of these two amazing people. Shooting their engagement session last week only made us MORE excited! We met up with them downtown and began in my favorite places to shoot… a parking structure.

Lisa and Geoff love photography as much as I do. It is AMAZING working with a couple who have as much passion and excitement for the art of photography as I do. We had lots of fun with their vintage cameras as well as their brand spankin’ new Canon 5d Mark II. Despite the fact Dusty and I are Nikon shooters… we can still love and appreciate a Canon. It was a blast working it out with these two. They are IN LOVE in a BIG way, and it just shows! It makes me incredibly happy to witness.

Lisa and Geoff were also happy to be my guinea pigs! They were the first couple to ever have an in-studio premier of their session. Last night we all got together at the studio and they saw their images for the first time on our 52 inch Samsung LCD TV. Um… I have to be honest… it was kind of like photographer crack. Being able to hear and see their reaction to the images was awesome for me and Dustin. After they saw the slideshow, they got to scroll through the images at their leisure and check them out. It was fantastic! I can’t wait to so this with a whole wedding! Thank you Lisa and Geoff for being so out of this world awesome! I can’t tell you how much we appreciate you being with us on our maiden voyage.

A huge thank you to Lisa and Geoff for being so ridiculously awesome! We are SO very excited to be a part of your wedding. You are a photographers dream come true! Thanks for everything! August seriously can’t some fast enough. Check out their slideshow HERE or in the box below!
