Celia {newborn portraits}

Beautiful baby Celia! How lucky am I to have photographed this little angel girl! I met her sweet parents last year when I photographed the RSVP Choir that they sing with. While we were waiting for all the choir members to arrive I fell in love with Sarah and Cory and their incredible personalities. They both have such a fabulous sense of humor, and were so obviously in love with each other. It was very exciting to get an email from Cory a few month later letting me know Sarah was pregnant and they wanted me to photograph their new addition when she arrived. I couldn’t wait! Sure enough their daughter is just as adorable as I thought she would be, and seems to already have her own great sense of humor. Apparently, the day before our shoot she slept like a CHAMP and was in the best mood ever! But on the day OF our shoot she slept for exactly 4 minutes the whole time I was there and her mood was not what I would call good. However, we managed to make some pretty fine images of this very fine family.

Isn’t she the cutest? Her parents sure do like her a lot… which is a good thing for sure. :) I remember those first few weeks when Lauren was a baby… she reshaped everything in just seconds and you can tell that Celia has carved her parents universe into a whole new, beautiful shape.

I love the look Sarah and Cory are exchanging in this next picture… I know that look… every new parent knows that look. :)

Cory, Sarah and Celia thank you so much for letting me come into your home and record this amazing time in the life of your family. I am so very happy for you, and can’t wait to watch Celia grow. Congratulations on one heck of a cute baby girl. Check out their SLIDESHOW HERE or below for more images of this beautiful family.

Back to Work {around the office}

Well, it’s officially the end of my maternity leave – the busiest maternity leave ever I think. But, now that Ben is 7 weeks old and this weekend marks my first official wedding post baby things are pretty much back to normal, just with another really cute kid around. Last week we took three days off and headed down to Monterey for a much needed family vacation. We enjoyed the beach, the Aquarium, and lots of eating. It was just what we needed before heading back to the full time business of running a business. I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of my delightful clients for being so wonderful during this pregnancy. Thank you for your understanding, patience and generosity. We love you so much, and feel so blessed to call you not just our clients but our friends. I also want to thank my wonderful family for all for all of their help and love as well. I wouldn’t be able to do this without them… especially my most beloved Dustin. He is not only the greatest husband and father ever, but he has made things run so smoothly these past two months. I can’t thank him enough for taking the heaviest loads off me, and carrying them like a champion. We will get back to our regularly scheduled posts soon. I have some lovely portraits to share, and I’ll share some photos from our vacation as well. In the meantime I leave you with this ring shot I took for a friend over the weekend. I so love rings. :)

Mid-Century Modern {Concept Shoot}

One of my favorite thing about my job is collaborating with REALLY talented people and have some fun shooting something out of the ordinary. I had the chance to do just that a few months ago with the delightful Kate Miller Events and Flourish Designs. We put together a fun shoot with a mid-century modern feel. Butterflies, orange tulips, and green played a big part in the design. I am DEEPLY in love with the centerpiece Shannon put together. It is STUNNING! Also, Kate’s table scape was just perfect. Clear glass bubbles, green place settings, stemless glassware and a chandelier made of hanging glass bubbles made for a beautiful and unique table. Also, I want to be a part of ANY table with a cupcake on it. :)

Shannon also put together one of the loveliest bouquets ever. I love how unique it was.

Having a beautiful bride sure didn’t hurt either. Megan is SUCH a beauty! It was wonderful photographing her in two beautiful dresses from Bella Donna Bridal Salon. And her hair and makeup was just perfect thanks to Nicole from Deja Du Salon.

Thanks to everyone who made this shoot possible! It was so delightful to shoot and even more delightful to see featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs and Fancy Pants Weddings.
