Tammy and Brian are so awesome! I was thrilled when they decide to do a day after session at their beautiful home in LaVerne, California. These two have such great style! I love all the art they had in their home too. Basically, it was dreamy.

Jessica and Johan stepped up their delightfulness by booking a day after session. I’m so excited that they did, because the day after session fell on such a beautiful day. There were crazy clouds, sunshine, and just a lot of fantasticness. We spent a wonderful afternoon in downtown Sacramento. And really, whenever you wear a wedding dress and a tux in public people tend to be really nice to you.

Lori and Nick {Day After Session}

I’m sure I have a few blog stalkers out there who are right now thinking, “Who the hell are Lori and Nick? Sarah didn’t shoot their wedding!” And you’re right, Blog Stalkers, I didn’t shoot this handsome pairs wedding. But I have to say, I am actually thrilled that I didn’t. Because if I had we wouldn’t have gotten together on a rainy Tuesday at the end of December to make some images I am so excited about. Lori and Nick got married in November in Hawaii, and even though they LOVED their pictures, they didn’t get a ton of photography time so they didn’t get as many pictures as they wanted. So, a few days before Christmas (in the middle of my huge move!) I got a phone call from Lori’s delightful mother, Debby, asking if I would do a trash the dress session for them. I am SO glad I said yes! We started off at one of my favorite places on the planet, The Citizen Hotel, where Lori and her mom had stayed the night before for a girls night. Debby had been vital to putting their Hawaiian wedding together, so she missed helping Lori get ready. This was her opportunity to help her baby girl into her wedding dress. It was such a delight to have Debby with us! She’s the best! And let me just say, Lori ROCKED her dress!

Aren’t Lori and Nick so freaking cute together? I love them! Nick was such a sport too! He carried umbrellas, and cleaned off umbrellas when that became a necessity in a dirty alley as well. Thanks Nick! We headed out from the Citizen to grab some shots around downtown in the drizzle. It was super fun!

Then we all jumped in my car and ran over to one of my favorite spots under the freeway… only to discover PEOPLE ACTUALLY PARK THERE! None the less, Lori and Nick rocked out some shots in the now pouring rain. And when I looked at Lori and said, “Please lay down over here by this drainage grate.” The girl didn’t even blink an eye! You have my heart forever Lori – FOREVER!

Lori and Nick thank you SO much for this amazing shoot! I loved being a part of it! You two are fabulous, and I feel so grateful to know you. And thanks to Debby for walking around in the rain with us, carrying all our props and even holding my flashes for me! You are fantastic! And also a special thanks to my most favorite hair and makeup team, Leilani and Renee! You two knocked it out of the park… like always! sara and dustin {day after session}

You know what I love? I love a super awesome day after session. And you know what? Sara and Dustin TOTALLY delivered when it came to a great day after session. We made our way up to Bassi Falls with visions of waterfalls dancing in our heads. We made the half mile hike into the falls only to discover…. there were no falls. The falls were dry. And suddenly the visions we had of brides frolicking in waterfalls with handsome grooms changed to brides frolicking in the rocks with handsome grooms. And I think it worked out pretty well thank you very much.

mandy and scott {day after session}

You know what makes me all warm and tingly? Day After Sessions. Seriously, I love them! They are so freaking rad! I love that Mandy and Scott chose to rock a Day After Session in downtown Sacramento. It was a blast taking these two to some of my favorite spots around town. And let’s be honest, a wedding dress in front of a monster wall… MAGIC!

Mandy and Scott TOTALLY brought it for this session. They were so much fun! Dustin and I kept coming up with stuff (here! Sit on this person’s scooter! Here! Go in this record store!) and they were just so up for it. We loved it and had the most fun with them.

Mandy and Scott also made a dream come true for me. Every time I pass a freeway overpass I dream about shooting under it… and you know what… these two were ALL FOR IT! And it turned out so rad! I am just so in love with these two. SO in LOVE!

And to finish off the night we headed over to Lounge on 20 to finish up our shoot and enjoy some fried mac and cheese and corn risotto.
