Last month I had the incredible pleasure of photographing the birth of beautiful Sicily Ann. I photographed her brothers birth a few years ago, and was so excited when Whitney and Phil invited me to be a part of their baby girls first birthday as well. It was simply one of the greatest things ever! And she’s born on the 6th of the month… really cool people are born on the 6th of the month.

Meredith and Jeff’s wedding was kind of totally perfect. I seriously couldn’t believe how smoothly the whole day went, how much fun everything was and how freaking beautiful every single moment was. Of course, I shouldn’t have ever doubted such perfection with Kate Miller Events running everything and Flourish taking care of the stunning florals. And, I mean, HELLO! Meredith is probably the prettiest person I’ve ever met in real life. Everywhere I turned was full blown prettiness. Even Mother Nature dealt out some of the most beautiful light I’ve ever photographed in. It was simply one of the best weddings I’ve ever photographed. So, of course because I’m head over heels for this wedding this post is kind of out of control. You might want to get a cup of coffee or a snack before you start. *** *** *** Okay, ya back? Good! Let’s start with all the pretty that is Mere getting ready.
Aren’t her shoes amazing? And those flowers! Oh Shannon! You make everything SO pretty! While I was getting high doses of gorgeous, Dustin was hanging with the fellas. Only when I was editing did I realize there was farm equipment and guns involved.
Then it was FINALLY time to get these two married. Now, I am a big ol’softy and often cry at weddings. But it has to be something really special for me to cry while I’m editing the pictures. And cry I did as I went through Meredith and Jeff’s ceremony. Their ceremony was so THEM! Both are lawyers, so their wedding ceremony was modeled after courtroom proceedings. The guests were even sworn in as witnesses! But it was Meredith and Jeff’s beautiful vows that left no dry eye in the audience or in my office. It was such an incredible way to promise the rest of their lives to each other. I LOVED it!
How awesome was that kiss!?! And good job Dustin being in the right place at the right time for that one. Then it was portrait time. Portraits bathed in the loveliest light ever. And can I just tell you how much I loved this bridal party? They were awesome!

One Kung-Fu Fighting.
The reception was held in a REALLY COOL clear tent in the back pasture. I love clear tents! And all the beautiful details couldn’t have come together better. Beautiful flowers, seersucker napkins, lip shaped lopipops. What a party!
The bridal party pantomimed double dutch jump rope for their entrance. Again, how awesome are they? And then it was a PARTY! Seriously, these kids know how to THROW DOWN!

Today you turn five years old. Five years ago you made me a mom, and I can’t thank you enough for that. I remember holding you for the first time and KNOWING you. The minute I met your daddy-o I met you. Your presence was a part of our relationship from the start. And it only took 4 months after we got married for you to make it clear you were READY to be born. Thank you so much for opening up a whole new world to me. Sure, it’s a world where a commercial for Disneyland can reduce me to tears and a world where I’m always worried about you being safe and happy and having enough princess gear. But I love this world! I love being your mom!
I can’t believe you’re already FIVE! You’re a star in kindergarten with your crazy reading skills. I love how much you love to learn! You are such an amazing sister to Ben. Even though he has gotten to the age where he is into ALL your stuff ALL the time you still love him and call him your best friend. I really, really hope you two stay best friends… even when you’re annoying each other. You are just such a cool kid and I am so grateful you are mine. Happy Birthday Princess! I LOVE YOU!!!!
