Over the fall harvest season we had the great pleasure of working with the California Walnut Growers Association to photograph their Autumn Harvest Tour for media from all over the U.S. Dustin and I were privileged tag along with a great group of writers, foodies and photographers as they were shown what a California walnut harvest looks like and make some delightful photos of their experience. We spent time in the orchards (My favorite!) learning about the process of growing and harvesting walnuts before the guests were treated to some incredibly delicious local, sustainable food with walnuts as the stars of the plates. Lunch in an orchard is something I will ALWAYS be excited to photograph! Especially when it’s so expertly created by Bacio Catering. We then were given a tour of the plants where the walnuts are processed for packaging and distribution. It was so interesting seeing the different ways the walnuts are packaged. After a busy day of learning the guests were treated to a beautiful and tasty meal created especially for them at Two Twenty in Chico. From start to finish we had an incredible time making images of a fun group and some absolutely delightful farmers. I am so thrilled to share these images with you! I apologize in advance if they make you super hungry.
