    Melanie and Jason Wedding

I don’t even know where to start with how much I adore Melanie and Jason. They found me on The Knot and I’ve been thanking my lucky stars ever since. I loved their eSession images so much that I used one for the splash page of my website. These two are so obviously in love with each other that it melts my heart, and this morning reduced me to tears as I put their slide show together.

Let me take just a moment to tell you what an awesome wedding this was too. Seriously, there was so much of Melanie and Jason’s personalities infused into every detail that it made the whole thing such fun to photograph. Their wedding was held at the beautiful home of the McCurdy’s, one of Jason’s long time friends parents. Let me just take a moment to compliment the McCurdy’s on their AMAZING art collection. When I walked into the house I almost started crying there was so much beautiful artwork. It was so much fun taking photos inside because the home was so lovely, and so well put together. They made my job incredibly easy and we so accommodating. I want them to know how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to work with them.

Melanie and Jason were a very wise couple and saw each other before the ceremony to do their couple portraits. With the on again, off again rain it was pretty hit or miss, but things cleared up just long enough for us to get family portraits as well as images of the bride and groom together. Just like at their eSession these two were making me laugh and warming my heart in the same moment. Their personalities show in the images we created together on Saturday, not to mention their love radiates enough to light a room. After we finished pictures they hung out with their close friends while the guests arrived. Then there was the ceremony to end all ceremonies. Melanie and Jason are bike enthusiast to say the least. So, with a very beautiful bike as a back drop they were married by their dear friend Dean. Ever the creative couple, they then did assembled a “Unity Crank” instead of a unity candle. Each of their mothers handed them a part of the bike crank and the two of them put it together. How awesome is that? On top of that, they had their nearest and dearest take part in the ceremony by giving speeches to and about the couple. It was such an enchanting mix of hilarious and heart warming. After the ceremony they treated their guests to my personal favorite food ever – Thai food from Thai Basil. All I can say is YUM! After dinner, the bride and groom cut their beautiful cake made at the Freeport Bakery and turned some traditions on their ear again. Instead of tossing her bouquet to a bunch of gittery single gals, Melanie asked all the married couples to stand, and then had them sit down one by one until she discovered which couple had been married the longest and gave her bouquet to them. The couple had been married for 39 years! How awesome is that? Then instead of tossing a garter, Jason got to take a sit while Melanie removed his knee warmers (a bikers must have) and tossed those instead to the single guys and gals at the party. It was so much fun! The night ended with LOTS of dancing and we all know how I feel about dancing. Good… I feel very, very good.
