I think I asked these guys WHY they were so stinkin’ cute about a hundred times during our session on Tuesday. But how could I not ask? Because they ARE so stinkin’ cute! I had the great joy of photographing one of my favorite families this week - The Wilhelm’s. Jess is my BFF Jill’s older sister, and I’ve always adored her. I never had an older sister, and I always thought Jess did a pretty great job as Jill’s. She is a really awesome person who I admire greatly. She married David about… what… 13 years ago? (Jess, am I close? I remember I was in high school.) And they had two really awesome kids, Maddy and Isaac. They also moved all over the place. From Nevada to Montana to Utah, they’ve been pretty much all over the Western US. Now, they are settled in Utah, and whenever they come home it is always such fun to hang out with them. This trip out Jess “painted for portraits.” She came out to the studio (official announcement and pictures coming soon don’t worry) an coated the walls in Stormy Monday Grey and Carrot Stick Orange in a way only she could, and for that I can’t thank her enough!

Jess and Dave wanted pictures with lots of the beautiful oak trees that are such a big part of this area. There are no oak trees in the desert of Utah, just a lot of sand - A LOT! So we went on over to some lovely areas near my house and rocked out some fun pictures. We had a great time, and I’m so happy that we could get together to make such great images.

Thank you Jess, Dave, Maddy and Isaac for a great afternoon! I love you guys loads and hope you love these images for years to come. Check out the slideshow below or HERE for more images from Jess and Dave’s VERY California family portraits.
