So Summer and Greg are the lightening in a bottle kind of amazing that I PRAY FOR. They are that couple that is so in love with each other it is completely effortless, and then they have THE MOST incredible group of friends and family who also happen to be crazy talented and help them put together the most kick ass wedding ever. Seriously, I am in love with these two in a way that might be a tiny bit unhealthy. I love them, love them. This is real. I met Summer at my VERY FIRST boudoir marathon a couple of years ago. She was fearless and awesome and I told her if she hired anyone else to shoot her wedding I would hunt her down like an animal. Knowing I would keep good on that promise she DID hire us for her wedding and HOLY MOLY I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. It was SO FREAKING AWESOME and so FULL of love. It was an incredible day I feel proud to have been a witness of. When I sent these pictures over to Summer last night her email back to me was went like this: “I can not even handle you. I think I cried more watching the slideshow than I did during the actual wedding!! And I haven’t even looked at the pics yet!! From the second I dropped my pants in front of you, I knew you were the one. You are incredible, as an artist and as a person (samsies for Dustin, minus the pants dropping part). I don’t have the words to thank you enough. But THANK YOU!!” See! You are pretty much in love with her too right now. Admit it. It’s cool. But wait! Let me show you their wedding. Your crush on Summer and Greg JUST got started.
Just FYI – throwing your bra at me pretty much etches you onto my heart forever. I’m just saying. Add to that my girls at Hello Glam were on site to make these beauties even MORE beautiful and perfection isn’t even enough of a word for a day like that! And when you have a group of bridesmaids that I like SO FREAKING MUCH I kind of want them to be MY bridesmaids, well, then we know you are a GREAT person to have friends like that. These girls DID NOT disappoint me – they just kept the awesome going at all times. I adore every single one of them.
The boys were pretty dang awesome too. I LOVED the picture Dustin captured of them getting ready. Apparently, tying a tie is WAY more difficult than I think it is.
Then it was time to get this bride and groom seeing each other! This is HANDS DOWN my favorite first look ever. Summer had the spot scouted before we got there and she said she wanted to tell Greg to turn around from a distance so he could see ALL of her pretty. You guys, when Greg turned around he RAN to her. These pictures do that moment no justice – NONE! It was freaking magical!
Then we got some pictures of The World’s Best Wedding Party. Seriously, the one of the girls grabbing the boys butts… I want that as a canvas in my studio like YESTERDAY!
Then is was wedding time. Oh my word The Miners Foundry is an amazing spot! And the wedding designer, Donna, did an AMAZING job making everything perfect. Dustin texted me before I got to the site and he told me how much I would love it but STILL I wasn’t prepared for all the awesome personal touches. Summer and Greg call each other “Babe” and “Dear” so there were pigs and deers all over, there was SO MUCH CONFETTI that I’m STILL finding it in my camera bag, and a thousand other tiny things that were just THEM! I loved every detail. Add to that a really personal ceremony officated by one of their best friends father and well, it’s just a recipe for me weeping.
Then we grabbed some portraits of our new Mr. and Mrs. before we got the party started!
Again with the incredible attention to detail and the beautiful design that was just SO THEM! Heap on top of that the most awesome heartfelt toasts, crazy dancing, cigars, PBR and a WHOLE bunch of fun and this wedding is going down in SMP history FOR SURE. It was a night I just didn’t want to see end! We loved every second.
Summer and Greg also did one of the kindest things we have ever had done for us at a wedding. They played our song, took our cameras off and made us dance. I am NOT going to lie – I cried. Like, really cried. We tell couples who come to meet with us that we don’t want to show up as the hired help, we want to show up as their friends because THAT is how we make amazing images with them. Summer and Greg took that above and beyond. They blew me away with their kindness, joy, love and friendship. I can’t thank them enough for giving me four and half minutes alone with my husband. It was perfect.
To see even MORE of Summer and Greg’s incredible day check out their SLIDESHOW HERE or below. We TRULY can’t thank Summer and Greg enough for having us be their witnesses and friends at their wedding. I am SO grateful to have been there. We love you two! Happy forever!!
