Mid-Century Modern {Concept Shoot}

August 4th, 2010
Filed under: Personal, Wedding

One of my favorite thing about my job is collaborating with REALLY talented people and have some fun shooting something out of the ordinary. I had the chance to do just that a few months ago with the delightful Kate Miller Events and Flourish Designs. We put together a fun shoot with a mid-century modern feel. Butterflies, orange tulips, and green played a big part in the design. I am DEEPLY in love with the centerpiece Shannon put together. It is STUNNING! Also, Kate’s table scape was just perfect. Clear glass bubbles, green place settings, stemless glassware and a chandelier made of hanging glass bubbles made for a beautiful and unique table. Also, I want to be a part of ANY table with a cupcake on it. :)

Shannon also put together one of the loveliest bouquets ever. I love how unique it was.

Having a beautiful bride sure didn’t hurt either. Megan is SUCH a beauty! It was wonderful photographing her in two beautiful dresses from Bella Donna Bridal Salon. And her hair and makeup was just perfect thanks to Nicole from Deja Du Salon.

Thanks to everyone who made this shoot possible! It was so delightful to shoot and even more delightful to see featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs and Fancy Pants Weddings.

what a wonderful world {concept shoot}

April 2nd, 2010
Filed under: Personal, Weddings

A few weeks ago I had the amazing job of shooting one of the most fantastically styled concept shoots EVER! This shoot was featured on Style Me Pretty this morning, and I am SO excited to share it with you here on our blog. Dustin and I loved working with the people involved with this shoot and the finished product is more than I have words for. So, with that I will shut up and show you the pretty.

I must thank everyone who was involved in this amazing shoot. It was JUST what I needed to get my creative juices flowing for 2010. A good photo friend of mine asked me why in the world we were doing this shoot, and the best answer I could come up with was this: it’s my candy. Photographing weddings is a huge joy to me, but it is someone else’s vision and there are times it is difficult to be excited about something we’ve done or seen before. Just like broccoli is really good for you, but sometimes you need a peanut butter cup to balance it all out. Being able to contribute to something that is 100% what we want to shoot how we want to shoot it is a rare experiance, and one that I treasured. It is always a joy to work with vendors who KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! And, it is an even bigger joy to see them do what they do at their very best. Thank you to everyone who was a part of this shoot, and who made it oh so sweet. Check out the SLIDESHOW HERE or below for more images from this dreamy shoot.

Jennifer and Josh {wedding}

Jennifer and Josh are just flat out awesome! Dustin and I had such a great time at their wedding in San Ramon last month. Jennifer has so much style, and such great taste in everything that I was possitivly giddy doing her detail shots throughout the day. And, seriously, these two couldn’t be more good looking if they tried. Put a heavy dollop of love on top of that and you have one of the best days ever!

Dustin got to hang with the fellas as they got ready in Walnut Creek.

Then it was time for Jennifer and Josh’s first look! Have I ever told you how much I love first looks? No? Really? Because I LOVE THEM!

A big reason Jenn and Josh had a first look was because Jennifer had TWELVE bridesmaids… TWELVE! And with a bridal party that big, we wanted to make sure we got a great picture of the group. This is reason number 274 that I LOVE Jennifer! When I pointed to the dry bed of a fountain and said, “Go in there and look pretty.” She didn’t even blink… she just said, “Josh, hold my hand.” And in she went. And, hello! I’m so glad she did!

Then is was time to get these two married! Off we went to Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church! I LOVED the stained glass they stood in front of as they said their vows! So pretty!

After the ceremony we had some time for portraits of this most beautiful couple. It was delightful!

Hello! How rad is that sky? And also, how rad are these flowers? Shannon of Flourish totally knocked this one out of the park!

Then it was party time. And if there is one thing this crowd was TOTALLY ready for, it was a party. We had a blast!

Even when Jennifer threw the bouquet into the chandelier, the party went on!

Jennifer and Josh we adore you! Thank you so much for having us be part of your stunning wedding! Take a peek at their super cool SLIDESHOW HERE or in the box below for more images of their lovely wedding.
