Marji and Joe’s Young’s Vineyard wedding was one of the most fun weddings we shot last fall. It was full of love, laughter and a few surprises. Like, you know, a rainbow… and some rain. But you know what they say about rain on your wedding day. It’s good luck! But these two are pretty lucky as it is. They happen to have a great group of family and friends (even a former SMP bride in their bridal party, so EXTRA special) and an incredibly loving relationship. Photographing Marji and Joe was an absolute joy. There was no drama, no worries – just peaceful happiness. I couldn’t have had a better time photographing such a wonderful day. This was our first time at Young’s Vineyard but we loved it so much that I really hope to go back again soon. I mean, just take a peek at how pretty this day turned out.
I just adore Marji’s style! Her dress, shoes, hair – ALL of it was amazing!
Because Marji and Joe are awesome, they had a first look. It was the best! They were SO happy to see each other and then we got to spend even more time making pretty pictures!
They also had an awesome wedding party! These loves were the tops!
And now we must pause for a moment to talk about Marji’s flowers. Really, ALL the flowers. My beloved Shannon of Flourish just did SUCH an amazing job on the flowers for this event. The boquets are magnificent, the table arrangements perfection and that birch and floral chuppah? ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?? It is heart stoppingly beautiful!! It’s ALWAYS such a pleasure to have Shannon’s flowers as part of a wedding I’m photographing. They just make everything that much better!
Just as it was time to start the ceremony the sky got dark and foreboding. Since the wedding was all outdoors this is where I start to get REALLY nervous. I looked across the crowd to Dustin for reassurance and he gives me the sign for “50/50 chance of rain” and I inhale sharply. Dustin is good at predicting the weather and I HATE SHOOTING IN THE RAIN! Blessedly, there were just a few sprinkles as the groom and bridal party were walking down the aisle. But then! Just for our bride – A RAINBOW! And as soon as they kissed THE SUN CAME OUT! Because wedding days are magic and I secretly control the weather. (Don’t I wish!)
Then it was time for some sunset portraits of our lovely Mr. and Mrs. and then PARTY TIME!!! My favorite!
