Sabina and Donnie had a beautiful Cornerstone Sonoma wedding last month and it was our complete pleasure to be there to capture their day. I LOVE couples who have been together for ages. Sabina and Donnie are high school sweethearts and it was incredible to have their friends and family talk about how much they love each other and how much they are loved by those who so joyously surrounded them on their wedding day. Having been married for a long time, it is fun to witness others who have invested a lot of years into their relationship be celebrated. I laughed really hard at this wedding, and I cried really hard too. These two chose the best wedding officiant ever – Donnie’s dad! There is nothing better than being married by someone who loves the couple deeply. He did an amazing job! Even blocking a too early kiss. Whatever it takes to get the job done right! The day just got better and better. With an incredible bridal party surrounding them Sabina and Donnie were CELEBRATED. I sometimes worry about very large bridal parties, but this group was a dream! And there were so many sweet moments between the bride and groom and their parents – which, as a parent myself, always makes me very, very happy. During her toast to the happy couple, Donnie’s mom mentioned a song she sang to him when he was a baby. That was the song he surprised her with when they danced together later that evening. And it made her cry – and of course it made me cry too. I couldn’t help but think of my own son, though he’s only 5, and what song he might dance with me to at his maybe, someday wedding. If he surprised me with the song I always sing to him, (Michael Jackson’s “Ben” – yes, I know it’s about a rat but… whateves) I would burst into tears without a doubt. Sabina and Donnie thank you SO much for having us be a part of your big day! It was wonderful – just like you two!
