2015 was such a big year for me and making portraits. I have treasured all the images I was able to create with some truly inspiring clients. It was such a joy to photograph SO many new babies of former wedding clients, legacy clients growing their families, my dearest friend and her family sending my beloved fairy goddaughter off to college, and welcoming some wonderful new people to the SMP family. My heart has been so opened to family portraits in the past year. I spent the better part of the infancy of my career making studio portraits for families. It was such a different line of work, such a different feeling – and it burned me out of portraits pretty quickly. But now I have a family of my own, a family I so rarely photograph and when I do, I am almost NEVER in the pictures. The importance of these images weighs heavily on me now – I understand the importance in a way I couldn’t before. So it is with great pleasure that I share with you some of my very favorite images of the portraits we made in 2015. I couldn’t be happier to have been a part of these moments for these families. I couldn’t be prouder of the work we’ve made and the way that work has changed and grown over the year. I am SO very excited for 2016 and the images we will get to make, the families we will get to meet and the love we will get to witness! Grab a cuppa joe and have a look – it’s a long post! Because 2015 was just FILLED TO THE BRIM with awesome.
