When Marji and Joe told me they wanted to do a Sacramento engagement session downtown I couldn’t help being REALLY excited about it. There is something pretty fantastic about Downtown Sacramento that just lends itself to taking pretty pictures. I happily met up with Marji and Joe for a drink at Ella before we started our walk-about photo shoot. We chatted about wedding plans, life plans, and all the good stuff that seems to happen when you’re about to promise your life to your best friend. I LOVE Marji and Joe! They are so fun and relaxed. Best of all – they are head over heels in love with each other. They were able to push past the nervousness of being photographed, and just be themselves – happy and in love. I am so very excited to photograph their wedding this fall! It is sure to be as wonderful as they are.
I’m not going to lie – when a bride tells me she saw something on Pinterest that she wants to incorporate into a session, I get a bit nervous. However, when Marji told me she and Joe were making a marquee sign that said love, I jumped right on board. Marji emailed me a few days before the session to tell me that the letters were finished and she was bringing them along. I was CRAZY excited. Only, I didn’t think about power. Luckily, we parked in a garage that not only had power, but lots of it! So we made the best of our luck and took some fun pictures with this awesome labor of love. I can’t wait to see how they use it on the wedding day! I know one thing, I am going to have A LOT of fun with it.
