I was there the night Brittney and Ray met each other. I was photographing another couple getting married. Brittney and Ray were guests of the bride and groom. I photographed them dancing together toward the end of the night. Little did I know a few years later I would be photographing their Sacramento Grand Ballroom wedding and grinning from ear to ear the whole day. I had no idea I would have photographed their first dance ever and then their first dance as husband and wife. I tell my couples that Dustin and I are there to be their witness, to show them the beginning of their marriage. It was especially amazing to be able to show Brittney and Ray the beginning of their relationship – to be their witness from the very beginning. On their wedding day we saw happy tears, nervous energy, the bride and groom standing and promising their lives to each other in the same church Ray’s parents were married almost 30 years before, siblings being so very happy for their childhood partners in crime, family and friends truly celebrating a couple they champion and the beginning of what I know will be one long, happy marriage. I am so grateful for my job and the opportunity it brings me to be a part of so many beautiful beginnings. Thank you Brittney and Ray for letting us be your witnesses and having such a beautiful story to tell.
