I will be honest – I don’t consider myself a pet person. I mean, animals are adorable and they are fun – but I grew up on a farm. I’ve kind of had my fill of animals. I am, at best, a reluctant pet parent to our dog, Amos. So, you can see how I wouldn’t be the first person you would think of to make pet portraits. But, I got this lovely email from Rachael telling me about her beautiful fur baby Annabelle, her 14 year old Pomeranian and my heart melted. Annabelle had been ill, and they didn’t know how long she would stay with them so it was time to make some images of their smiley girl. I knew I had to make some lovely pictures of this little angel pup and her humans. I spent an afternoon being charmed to bits by Annabelle and I just adore the pictures we made together. I am so happy I got to chronicle this special time for this little family. These pictures just make me all kinds of happy.
