Italian Destination Wedding

So this may very well be the LONGEST blog post I’ve ever done. Settle in folks, it’s a good one! Tera and Sean are AMAZING. They are wonderful people, who make a wonderful couple and their wedding was downright magnificent. When Tera called us and asked us to be a part of her and Sean’s wedding I was SO excited. When she told us it was in Italy I almost passed out. After starting to plan a big country club affair, Tera and Sean realized that wasn’t THEM. They were planning a long honeymoon in Europe and thought, “Why don’t we just get married there?” They were sure their parents would not like the idea, but were pleasantly surprised when they were 100% on board. And so, a very big wedding turned into a very small one that just happened to be amazing. Tera and Sean found a stunning villa in Tuscany with lots of room for family and friends and photographers to stay and a beautiful spot to get married. With that it was ON! I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have been a part of this beautiful wedding. I love Tera and Sean a lot, and am so happy Dustin and I got to capture their incredible wedding day. I hope you’ve grabbed a cup of coffee and a snack… because I’m showing you A LOT of pretty pictures today. Enjoy!

I think EVERYONE should get a wedding day sunrise like that… don’t you?

Tera sure had the pretty down pat for her big day. I loved her dress, her shoes, her accessories! All of it was awesome. And wait until you see how handsome Sean got! Hello Hugo Boss tux! And his boutonniere? Well Tera and I made that from the rosemary growing on the grounds of villa. We are crafty like that.

And then it was ceremony time! There were thunder clouds forming in the sky, but we didn’t care! While the bride and groom were waiting for the officiant to arrive I decided to take a little time to add some pretty to their ceremony. The dad’s and Tera’s brother gathered some chairs from the villa to make a ceremony space and I brought a marble topped table over and some lanterns and then Dustin helped me cut some rosemary and roses to make a backdrop for their ceremony. Tera was hesitant to plan any details because she didn’t want to be disappointed if they didn’t work out – so I channeled everything I ever learned from Kate Miller and Shannon of Flourish into that table so Tera would have her pretty details for her wedding day.

Did you see how the skies parted and the sun came out right there when they were getting all OFFICIALLY husband and wife?!!?! It was MAGICAL! We grabbed some family pictures and then it was time to pop some bubbly and celebrate before we headed into Florence for some photos.

I love it when Dustin gets all crazy with a Lensbaby, don’t you? We had SUCH a great time shooting around Florence. EVERYONE was so nice and kept telling us it was good luck to get married on a rainy day. I’m glad it’s good luck, because I was SOAKED TO THE BONE by the time we were finished with pictures. But really, it was 100% worth it.

After putting their lock on the bridge and throwing the key into the river, we stopped for a cappachino and to change some Facebook statuses from “Engaged” to “Married” before heading up to get views of the city before dinner.

Insanely beautiful, right? Seriously this wedding was such an amazing experience for us. We are just SO grateful. Then we went back to the apartment to dry off a little and Tera changed into her AMAZING dinner dress and then we ate more food than I thought humanly possible. Coarse after coarse of delicious food was brought to our table along with copious amounts of red wine. Then there was desserts and moscato and dipping cookies into liqueur and so much yumminess I could hardly believe it. Seriously that was one of the top 2 meals OF MY LIFE! It was SUCH a wonderful way to celebrate an absolutely perfect wedding day.
