Carolyn and Ryan’s The Good Saint Urban Reserve wedding was a great way to finish up my 2018 wedding season. These loves came all the way from Chicago to get hitched and it was such a pleasure to be part of their wedding day. They truly adore each other and are in turn, adored by their family and friends. This was my first time photographing at The Good Saint and I hope it won’t be my last! N’Gina has put together a gorgeous space that is just perfect for an intimate wedding. I would LOVE to see this space in the summer and fall! It would be just as stunning. I will say, I love December weddings SO much. Not just because they are usually at least partly decorated with Christmas trees (but that IS a big selling point) but because the quality of the light is incredible! That picture in the header of this post ONLY happens in December. The light looks this silky and lush for a short amount of time, but it is stunning! I am so grateful I got to be part of this beautiful day! Check out below for more from the happy couple and what they loved best about their big day!
Do you have any advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Stay true to what you want, and don’t get bogged down in the details. Try to remember that it’s about gathering the people you love together to celebrate who you are as individuals and as a couple, and the minor stuff doesn’t matter, but be true to who you are, that’s why everyone is coming to celebrate.
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
Looking out on the friends and family who had gathered to celebrate us during the ceremony.
What was your favorite image from your wedding and why do you love it best?
We love this photo because we love all the people in this photo and all the love these couples represent.
(Editor’s note: the photo is on the right above. All of these couples read passages from super nerdy books like Harry Potter and Game of Thrones about love. It made my book loving heart ridiculously happy! Also, the bride admitted DURING HER VOWS that her childhood crush was Darth Vader. I have never loved a vow more.)
If you could do it all over, would you change anything about your wedding?
Not a single thing!
